The trail unfolds the beautiful Solang Valley and offers galvanizing panoramas of the Great Himalayan peaks. Slightly shorter than Stok Kangri, Friendship Peak gives the thrill of a peak expedition but in a comparatively easier manner.

The journey starts from Manali and on the first day, you will simply do some sightseeing around the region, and the next day we will drive you from Manali to Dhundi. Dhundi is the starting point of the trek and from Dhundi you will trek to our first major stop, Bakarthach. The trek to Bakarthach campsite winds through forests of Oak, Walnut, and other conifers and is surrounded by moraines and glaciers.

On day 3, the trek resumes from Bakarthach to Lady Leg. Today you will trek mostly on moraines and our team will teach you some mountaineering techniques.

The next day is interesting and you will learn about the load ferry concept which is implemented for proper acclimatization. We will trek to Summit camp and descend back to Lady Leg Camp.  The following day you will again trek to Summit camp and mostly rest the remaining day. You will receive sessions on crampon, harness, and ice-axe usage. Stay hydrated and get adequate rest. Our professional trek leaders will help you with all the expert guidance that you need for the trek and proper acclimatization.

On summit day, you will trek from Summit camp to the Friendship Peak summit and descend back to the lady leg camp. Next day we will descend back to Dhundi from lady leg camp and drive back to Manali.

We keep a buffer day in our itinerary for such expeditions. Weather at high altitudes is unpredictable and if the summit cannot be attempted on the designated day due to weather conditions or any unforeseen circumstances, we will use the buffer day to complete the summit climb. The decision to use buffer day or not will be a team decision. It is recommended to keep an extra day in your schedule.

You will be accompanied by a team of expert guides and mountaineering certified trek leaders, who ensure that your entire journey is completed with optimal safety.
