Beas Kund Trek lies in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, located at 12,772 ft. The total distance the trek would cover is sixteen kilometers. Trekkers who are beginners can trek on this trail, but keep in mind that you will be covering a long distance in less Time. The starting point of the trek is Solang Nallah, also well known for adventure and thrill activities like paragliding and skiing. As you are on this trek, you will be under the shadows of the mountains Shitidhar, Hanuman Tibba, Ladakhi, and Friendship Peaks. In addition, you will see the Pir Panjal Range in the background. Religious mythology refers to Rishi Vayas taking baths in the writer of the great Mahabharata. According to locals, the name is derived from Maharishi’s Vayasa, who spent his Time here.
Start your journey from Manali to Dundhi, a village 21 km away, by road. Upon arrival, embark on a trek to Bakarthatch, which is 13 km from Dundhi. The initial part of the trek takes you through lush green meadows and ridges. Set up camps at Bakarthatch. After lunch, engage in an acclimatization walk to adjust to the altitude and enjoy panoramic views of snow-capped peaks such as Hanuman Tibba, Deo Tibba, and Indrasan. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.
Begin your day early with breakfast and head towards the final destination, Beas Kund. The trek to Beas Kund involves walking over moraine to reach the lake situated at an altitude of 3600 meters. Beas Kund is renowned as the birthplace of River Beas and serves as a base camp for peaks like Shitidhar and Friendship Peak. Enjoy the breathtaking views at Beas Kund before returning to the Bakarthatch camp. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.
After breakfast, start your trek back to Dundhi, marking the last day of your trek. Upon reaching Dundhi, drive back to Manali. Arrive in Manali, concluding the Beas Kund Trek.
